Here are some of my thoughts and experiments with innovative practices in public health education
Here is a Storify story I made to teach evidence-based public health to first year public health students at the University of Adelaide. I asked the students to visit this site to get the relevant background about the public health issue I would be using to illustrate the place of evidence in development of public health policy. Prior to the two lectures approximately two thirds of students had at least visited the webpage and this continued to grow after the lectures were given. Currently the number visits (384) is larger than the class size suggesting that some students went back for multiple visits. Flipping these two lectures really helped to get the students on the page so to speak when we started thinking about the wicked problem of compulsory quarantining of welfare payments and the evidence for its effectiveness.
